Community guidelines

Last updated: August 24, 2026. These guidelines apply to the Proof app from its launch, and from today to everything that carries our name. The French version prevails.

Proof is your friends' best addresses, with proof. It only works if what you read is true and if everyone feels welcome. Hence four rules, not one more.

Proof above all

A shot is taken on site, the moment you are there. Don't cheat with that: no archive photo, no place you never set foot in, no complacency rating for a friend's restaurant or against a competitor. It's the product's promise; content that breaks it gets removed.

Respect, online as at the table

No insults, no harassment, no hate against a person or a group, no unsolicited sexual content. Criticise a dish, not a waiter. Venues are run by people.

Other people's privacy

You photograph a place, not strangers. No recognisable face without consent, no home address, no private information about someone else, even as a joke.

A notebook, not a billboard

No spam, no multiple accounts, no commercial canvassing disguised as reviews, no links to scams. If you have an interest in a place you recommend, say so.

If a rule gets broken

Report the content from the app, or write to support@proofplaces.com. Every report is read. Depending on severity: content removal, warning, suspension or account deletion, and referral to the authorities where the law requires it. Every moderation decision is notified to you with its reason, and you can contest it by replying.
